Great Hollow Nature Preserve
Volunteer for our Feathered Friends!
We are currently accepting volunteers to help care for Great Hollow's non-releasable birds of prey, which include two red-tailed hawks, two barred owls, and two ridiculously cute screech owls. If you love animals and would like to volunteer some of your time towards these birds' care, please email us at [email protected] to tell us a little about yourself and your availability. The work primarily involves feeding the birds, changing their water, and cleaning their enclosures. Warning - they can make quite a mess! The only requirements are that you are at least 16 years of age, not afraid of handling frozen mice and other such food items, and not turned off by a little (ok, a lot) of bird poop. Opportunities to learn how to handle the birds can be arranged for any volunteers who can make a long-term commitment. ... See more
